What is iftar?

Iftar is the Arabic word for the meal served at sunset when Muslims break the day’s fast. Iftar is a time when families, friends and communities come together. Although there is no specific type of food designated for iftars, it is tradition to break the fast with a sweet and refreshing date before moving to a heartier dinner

What is Iftar Tables?

Iftar Tables is a project focused on trying to ensure no one unwillingly spends this Ramadan alone. It is for anyone looking for a table to have iftar at, anyone with an iftar table they’re willing to share and those who simply want to experience an iftar for the first time. Read more about the project here

I’d love to be part of this but I’m unsure which is right for me

  • Share my table is best suited for people who have the capacity to host someone for iftar. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy or formal and it’s less about the food and more about the company
  • Experience an iftar is best suited to anyone, including those who may not be Muslim, who would like to experience fasting and breaking the day’s fast with someone

Who can sign up
